Farm to table...


Early Summer on the west coast is stunningly beautiful...golden warm days with cool nights...fresh fruits & vegetables are in abundance all year here...especially now we have the most delicious local grown sweet corn...turnips & much more...I hosted a farm to table dinner this week...cooking many Southern specialties with the gorgeous produce from local farms...I had several tomato plants this year in my herb garden...the first tomatoes were ripe last week & were really delicious...Southern cornbread with chive butter...turnips...sweet potatoes...peas..butter beans & southern smothered pork chops were on the menu...Ina Garten's chocolate cake with ganache & lemon icebox pie were the desserts...everyone came back for seconds...which always pleases me...a wonderful evening...Lots of antiquing the last few weeks...several shipments from France & wonderful vintage garden finds...Sharing with you a quick glimpse into my Farm to table entertaining!
